Sonic Fabric made from recycled cassette tapes
"Sonic fabric emits sound when you run a tape head (the little thingy inside the tape deck that touches the tape) over it. Because the tape retains its magnetic quality through the weaving process, it acts as a big wide band of tape." via sonicfabric.com

Nike Blanket Petition Workshop this Saturday
This Saturday at the Museum of Arts and Design 10:00AM - 1:00PM.
It's a good opportunity to see The Radical Lace and Subversive Knitting exhibit!
DETAILS:
Join worldwide fiber enthusiasts by participating in the Nike Blanket Petition, a blanket made up of 4 x 4 inch knitted or crocheted squares, that will be assembled as a petition for fair labor policies for Nike garment workers. Hand stitched squares are documented by a digital camera and archived on-line, then stitched into a 14 foot wide blanket of the Nike swoosh. Experienced and non-knitters welcome, there will be beginner lessons in knitting and crochet. Exhibiting artist Cat Mazza will introduce the project and lead the workshop with a slide show about the blanket tour to knitting circles across the United States. This session will complete the three-year initiative that she intends to deliver to Nike. Free with Museum admission.
