Stitch for Senate Helmet #61:
Knitted for Senator Jon Kyl

The "Shock and Awe" perpetrated by the Bush administration in its aggressive attack on Iraq may have been intended to alarm our "enemy". But, as a 54-yr-old mother, grandmother and working professional, I feel the attack on the ideals I grew up believing this country once stood for. No longer is America the trusted nation it once was, but instead regarded by many of our global neighbors as perpetrators of violence and selfish disregard for rights of indigenous people and resources of this planet. We must consider carefully in this fruitless war against "terror" who exactly it is that is behaving like terrorists. Perhaps this Walt Kelly quote holds true, "We have seen the enemy and it is US."
